Robots can do many things. But they need to move to do those things.
Scientists are looking for new ways to make robots move. With no batteries or
wires, robots could do many more things.
機器人可以做很多事，科學家正在找出不用電池或電線就能移動的方法，這樣機器人就可以做更多事!

Can a mushroom move a robot? What??? That sounds funny! But mushrooms have
mycelia.
也許蘑菇可以移動機器人哦! 雖然聽起來好笑，但蘑菇裡有 mycelia ，也就是菌絲體。

Mycelia are thin white lines in mushroom roots. Mycelia can send electric
signals!
菌絲體是磨菇根部細細的白色絲狀物，它們可以傳送電訊！

Scientists made two robots. One robot has legs. The other robot has wheels.
They grew mycelia in the robots. Then they used the mycelia's electric
signals. The robots moved!
科學家做了兩種機器人，一種有雙腳，一種裝有輪子。他們在機器人裡面培養菌絲體，並利用牠們傳遞訊號，讓機器人動起來！

Mycelia are very strong. They can live in very cold places. They can live in
salt water. They can live in some places that are too dangerous for people!
Maybe mycelia can help robots do more.
菌絲體很強，可以在低溫、鹽水或是其他人類無法生存的地方生長，也許牠們能夠幫助機器人做更多事情。

Moving robots with mycelia is great! Living things and machines can work
together!
