The first Hakka people lived in China. Long ago they were forced to leave.
They had to find a new home.
客家人本來住在中國中原地區，很久以前，他們被迫離開找新的家。

Some Hakka people came to Taiwan. Coming here was very difficult. There were
no planes then! They had to travel by boat.
有一些客家人選擇到台灣。來台灣非常困難，那時候沒有飛機，只能坐船。

The Hakka people liked living in Taiwan. They brought their culture here.
That's why we can enjoy many great Hakka traditions.
客家人喜歡台灣，也把他們珍貴的文化傳統帶到這裡。

This is a traditional Hakka Eight-Tone band. Their music is an important
Hakka tradition. This band plays at big events and parties. It's good! Maybe
your grandparents know Eight-Tone music.
這是傳統的客家八音樂團，音樂是很重要的客家傳統，會在大型活動表演。也許你的爺爺奶奶也知道客家八音。

We make a lot of food waste! All the world's food waste in one day can make one billion meals! Wow! 我們每天製造很多廚餘，全世界一天的廚餘量相當於一億份餐點 ! We throw away a lot of food. When it goes to  landfills , it makes gases that make the Earth hotter. 廚餘被丟到垃圾掩埋場，會產生溫室氣體，讓地球的溫度升高。 But in South Korea, people don't throw away food waste. The country recycles 98 percent of it. That's five million tons of food recycled every year! 但是在南韓，人們不會把食物丟掉，這個國家回收百分之  98  的廚餘，一年回收  500 萬噸的食物 ! Families pay to recycle their food waste. They pay about 200 Taiwan dollars a month. They put the food in food waste bags or cans. The Pasta'ay Festival Is About Something Serious   2024.11.14 語音檔連結 The Saisiyat are one of the Indigenous Taiwanese Peoples. Long ago, there were many Saisiyat people. Today, there are around six thousand Saisiyat in Taiwan. 賽夏族是台灣的原住民族，原本人口很多的他們，現在只有大約 6 千人。 But the Saisiyat have saved their traditions.
